Japanese chemical company Asahi Kasei has collaborated with Genomatica, Inc., regarding hexamethylenediamine (HMD) based on biomass-derived raw material (bio-HMD). Asahi Kasei currently uses fossil fuel–derived HMD as an intermediate to manufacture Leona polyamide 66, an engineering plastic featuring outstanding heat resistance and rigidity.

Aramco is set to develop refinery & petrochemical complex in China

Aramco has announced that it is set to invest in the development of a major integrated refinery and petrochemical complex in Northeast China. Huajin Aramco Petrochemical Company (HAPCO), a joint venture between Aramco, North Huajin chemical industries group corporation and Panjin Xincheng industrial group, will develop the liquids-to-chemicals complex.
