US’ Flexcon expands L-59FR series flame-retardant adhesive portfolio

US’ Flexcon, an innovator in adhesive coating and laminating, has announced an expansion of its L-59FR series flame-retardant adhesive portfolio. The Flexcon L-59FR series, featuring a self-extinguishing, non-halogenated flame-retardant adhesive, is now available in both 2.0 mil and 4.0 mil adhesive coat weights as either a transfer tape or coated film.

An international team of scientists from the University of Cambridge have produced a fully woven smart textile display that integrates active electronic, sensing, energy and photonic functions. The functions are embedded directly into the specialised fibres and yarns, which are manufactured with the use of textile-based industrial processes.

John A Hopkins to step down as US’ IACMI CEO

Germany’s BASF & Neveon join hands for mattress recycling

Germany’s BASF and foam specialist, Neveon, are working together to further develop the recycling of mattresses. The aim is to establish a closed product loop for mattresses. Currently, discarded mattresses are mainly thermally recycled or disposed of in landfills. BASF and Neveon want to change this and return mattress foams to the product life cycle.
