Japan’s Asahi Kasei to produce acrylonitrile with biomass raw material

Japan’s Asahi Kasei has announced that, Tongsuh Petrochemical, a South Korean subsidiary, has got ISCC PLUS certificate for its acrylonitrile (AN) as a sustainable product, and production of AN using biomass propylene is scheduled to begin in February 2022. AN is a raw material to make ABS resin, acrylamide, acrylic fibre, and other chemical products.
