France’s Carbios aims to depolymerise 60 tons of PET in 2023

France-based chemical company Carbios has formalised several targets in its newly released 2021 sustainability report. The environmental objectives include using the LCA method to maximise circularity and aim for the lowest carbon impact and commitment to depolymerising 60 tons of PET in 2023 at the demonstration plant in Clermont-Ferrand.

US’ Trillium raises $10.6 mn in series A financing round

US’ Trillium has raised a $10.6 million series A financing round. The first closing totalled $5.5 million and was led by Hyosung Advanced Materials. Capricorn Partners and HELM have joined the series A round to bring the total to $10.6 million. The funding builds on the company’s non-dilutive award of $2.5 million from the US Department of Energy.

Finland’s Ahlstrom names Helen Mets as new president & CEO

Finland’s Ahlstrom has named Helen Mets as its president and CEO, effective January 1, 2023. With the company entering the next phase of growth and transformation, Mets will succeed current president and CEO, Hans Sohlstrom, who has been with the company since 2016. Sohlstrom will leave Ahlstrom at the end of December to pursue new opportunities.

France’s RecyOuest starts recycling line for agricultural waste nets

RecyOuest, a French green economy company, has successfully started up world’s first recycling line that produces recycling fibres for nonwoven applications from agricultural plastic waste nets. The unique dry-cleaning system of the recycling line was delivered, installed, and commissioned by international technology group Andritz in August 2022.

Germany’s Sandler announces change in management board

Germany’s Sandler has named Philipp Ebbinghaus, the chief officer of finance and IT, and CFO of Sandler Nonwoven, as board member, effective January 1, 2023.
