US-based safety textile manufacturer TenCate Protective Fabrics has signed an MoU with Saxion University to strengthen their partnership towards research on sustainable textiles. The deal was inked on September 15 when a large delegation from TenCate Protective Fabrics paid a visit to Saxion University’s Sustainable & Functional Textiles research group.

The supervisory board of BASF SE has extended the appointment of Martin Brudermuller as BASF’s chairman of the board of executive directors until the end of the 2024 annual shareholders’ meeting. The board has also appointed Dirk Elvermann as the new chief financial officer and chief digital officer. BASF SE is a German multinational chemical company.

Andritz has received an order from Welspun Advanced Materials to supply a Metris predictive maintenance system for its spunlace production line at the Telangana plant. Nahtlos, an Empa spin-off, has got one million Swiss francs in a first round of financing from business angels in Switzerland and Liechtenstein and from the Startfeld Foundation. Nahtlos aims to drive the market entry of its textile-based electrode for medical applications. Empa is the research institute for materials science and technology development.
