Swedish company Hexagon to help McLaren Racing improve Formula 1 cars

E-Xstream engineering, part of Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division, has been chosen by McLaren Racing to provide materials data management for its Formula 1 cars. The historic racing team uses advanced materials to get optimal performance from its race cars. The team has selected the MaterialCenter materials lifecycle management system.

US’ Hexion, Rassini work on composite leaf spring in Ford’s new model

Hexion has worked with Rassini for composite leaf spring application in Ford’s new model of the F-150 pickup truck. Rassini has developed the hybrid rear suspension, which comprises a parabolic main steel leaf supported by a composite helper. It has used Hexion’s Epikote epoxy resin system since it enables mass production of the composite helper spring.

Bercella and Formula Seven have partnered to develop an innovative seat for Formula SAE single-seaters. The initiative utilises 100 per cent natural materials, and indicates that greener materials can be reliable on an engineering level. Germany’s STS Group setting up its first US manufacturing facility

STS Group, a system supplier of interior and exterior parts for commercial vehicles, is setting up its first US manufacturing facility in Wythe County’s Progress Park with an investment of $39 million.
