Scientists develop metallic coating treatment for wearable textile

Researchers from universities around the world have developed a new metallic coating treatment for clothing or wearable textiles that can self-repair, repel bacteria, and monitor heart signals. The conductive circuits created by liquid metal particles can transform wearable electronics and open doors for further development of human-machine interfaces.

Ahlstrom Eco's use of lignin-based impregnation in their filter media could have a significant impact on automotive industry's sustainability efforts. Lignin is a polymer found in plants that is typically considered a waste in papermaking processes. Austrian firm Andritz’s revenue soars 28.5% in Q1 FY23

Austrian technology group Andritz has reported a 28.5 per cent increase in revenue to €1,962.6 million for Q1 FY23 compared to Q1 FY22. The company's order intake fell 6.5 per cent YoY to €2,420.2 million, with the exception of its metals business area, which saw growth. Despite the decline in orders, Andritz's order backlog rose to €10,407.8 million.

Finnish firm Valmet posts 17% growth in orders received in Q1 FY23

Finnish company Valmet reported a 17 per cent YoY increase in orders received to €1,552 million in Q1 FY23, with net sales increasing by 38 per cent YoY to €1,321 million. The order backlog at the end of the reporting period amounted to €4,595 million. The company estimates net sales and comparable EBITA to increase in FY23 compared to FY22.

Andritz gets order for 2 hygiene converting lines from Turkiye’s Predo

Andritz has received an order from Predo Health Products to deliver two high-speed hygiene converting lines for producing adult open diapers and feminine sanitary napkins. The lines will be installed in Predo's factory in Gaziantep and start-up is scheduled for the first half of 2024. Predo already operates four baby diaper lines from Andritz.

US’ Hexcel Corporation’s net sales soar 17.2% to $457.7 mn in Q1 FY23

American firm Hexcel Corporation reported Q1 FY23 sales of $457.7 million, up 17.2 per cent YoY, driven by commercial aerospace sales, which grew by 30 per cent to reach $284.5 million. The company's adjusted operating income increased to $63 million or 13.8 per cent of sales, compared to $31.1 million, or 8 per cent of sales in Q1 FY22.
