In 2021, the production of nonwovens in Greater Europe increased in volume by 2.0 per cent to reach a total of 3,120,967 tonnes (and 87.6 billion square metres), according to the data released by EDANA, the international Association serving the nonwovens and related industries. Finland’s Ahlstrom-Munksjo, a fibre-based solution provider, has reported a record high of €3.1 bn of net sales in 2021 for the reporting cycle from January 1 to December 31, 2021. Europe accounted for 45 per cent of its overall net sales followed by the US at 41 per cent and Asia at 14 per cent. The company also reported an EBITDA at €398 million.
