US’ Diamond Wipes appoints Steve Gallo as CEO

Austrian firm Andritz to supply 2 baby diaper lines to Fouani Nigeria

International technology group Andritz has received an order from Fouani Nigeria to supply two baby diaper lines for its facilities in Lagos. The lines will produce a wide range of top-class diaper products with absorbent cores made of pulp and SAP (super absorbent polymer). Team from Japan, Pakistan, Vietnam develops bioactive mix Viroblock

A team of researchers from Japan, Pakistan and Vietnam have developed a mixture of aliphatic lipidic strands and certain cyclodextrins—produced from starch by enzymatic conversion—that can reduce the amount of lipid in anti-viral walls. As a result of the silver infiltration, viral reproduction is inhibited, and infectious agents are killed.

US’ Avient unveils additives for HEPA air filters

US’ Avient has unveiled new additives for high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters that offer consistent filtration performance to meet the requirements of the HEPA H13 standard. HEPA filters remove dust, pollen, mould, and bacteria from the air. HEPA layers use electrets, which create ‘charge traps’ that helps to improve filtration efficiency.

US’ Grace licenses Unipol PP process technology to Oriental Energy

W. R. Grace, US’ supplier of polyolefin catalyst technology, polypropylene (PP) process technology, has licensed its Unipol PP process technology to Oriental Energy for its Maoming, China, plant. It is Oriental Energy’s fifth polypropylene line, and its fourth using Grace’s Unipol PP process technology with a production capacity of 400 KTA.

UAE University develops electric mask to get rid of viruses

The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) has registered a patent for an electrical mask to kill viruses, including the novel coronavirus. Led by Mahmoud Al Ahmad, a multidisciplinary team of researchers from the university has developed and patented a device that has two flexible graphene electrodes connected to a power source such as a battery.
