Turkey's export of medical textile goods reached $1.4 billion last year, according to the Aegean Exporters Association (EIB), which recently said the textile products export sector is recovering. Scientists at the University of Rhode Island have devised a continuous, non-invasive way to detect and monitor infections in wounds by embedding nanosensors in the fibres of a bandage.
