In 2022, Ahlstrom has committed to setting science-based emission reduction targets in line with net-zero. It plans to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 38 per cent by 2030 and achieve zero waste by 2030. In 2022, the company also invested in new boilers to reduce carbon footprint and achieved a record-high net sales and comparable EBITDA.

The Finnish airlaid nonwoven producer SharpCell is launching a plastic-free and fossil-free airlaid material for premium napkins at the Tissue World trade fair in Düsseldorf.
