Germany’s ThermHex Waben produces lightest sustainable sandwich panels

ThermHex Waben, specialist producer of thermoplastic polypropylene honeycomb cores for lightweight sandwich panels and components, has announced its latest range of sustainable panels for lightweight applications. The applications cover a wide range of industries, including automotive, transport, wind and solar, logistics, B&C, and furniture.

Germany’s Emtec to present haptic solution for nonwovens at Index23

Emtec Electronic will be presenting a practical solution for measuring haptic standards for nonwoven products—the Tactile Sensation Analyzer (TSA)—at Index23. The TSA allows nonwoven manufacturers to objectively and reliably test the haptic quality of their products along individual parameters as well as deformation and springback behaviour.

US’ Geosynthetics Conference 2023 ends on a successful note

The recently held 2023 US’ Advanced Textiles Association’s (ATA) Geosynthetics conference, co-hosted with the International Erosion Control Association’s (IECA) annual conference and expo, brought together the geotechnical industry as well as the erosion, sediment control, and stormwater industry. The expo had around 1,800 attendees and 186 exhibits.

Canada’s Roswell Textiles unveils Viraloc Eco biodegradable face mask

Roswell Textiles, alongside its sister company and commercial partner, PADM Medical, has announced the use of its plant-based nonwoven materials, Ecofuse, in Canada’s first plant based, medical grade procedural mask (Viraloc Eco). The Viraloc Eco face mask has a 65 per cent carbon footprint reduction, when compared to a traditional synthetic mask.

Germany’s Henkel to display new nonwovens at Index23

Under the motto ‘Rethink Nonwovens’, Henkel will present breakthrough solutions to enhance the sustainability and efficiency in nonwovens manufacturing at Index23, held from April 18-21, at Palexpo, Geneva, Switzerland. At stand 2255, Henkel will showcase Technomelt DM ECO, a new sustainability-focused adhesives grade for the nonwovens market.

Swiss firm Gurit’s composite materials’ sales up 52.9% in FY22

Switzerland based Gurit, a company that specialises in advanced composites, has reported a 52.9 per cent increase (at constant rates) to Swiss franc (CHF) 325.5 million in the sales of its composite materials segment in fiscal 2022 (FY22). The company’s net sales were CHF 499.5 million, an increase of 6.7 per cent year-on-year (YoY), for FY22.

Andritz to showcase sustainable solutions at Index23 in Geneva
