Indian textile sector urged to focus on scale, quality, speed, volume

This is time for the Indian textile industry to focus on scale, quality, speed and higher volume and capture world markets, according to Indian minister for textiles Piyush Goyal, who recently told a conference session in Mumbai that many international companies tell him they are unable to find high-quality high-volume suppliers in the country.

China’s Babycare joins Eastman, Avery Dennison for sustainability

Babycare has entered into strategic partnerships with specialty materials maker Eastman and pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes producer Avery Dennison, with the aim of creating safer maternity and parenting lifestyles. The signing of the new agreements with Eastman and Avery Dennison increases Babycare’s number of strategic partners worldwide to eight.

ITA & ACIMIT to showcase Italian textile machinery at Index23

About 90 Italian exhibitors including over 40 machinery manufacturers will be present at the latest edition of INDEX trade fair which is set to take place from April 18–21, 2023 in Geneva. Once again, the ITA in cooperation with the ACIMIT has organised an exhibition space reserved for companies manufacturing machinery for the textile sector.

UWE Bristol researchers introduce fabric that monitors heart rate

UWE Bristol researchers at the Centre for Print Research (CFPR) have successfully developed a prototype of a simple piece of fabric, which when placed around a wrist can monitor heart rate and can be worn and washed at least 10 times without compromising its monitoring ability. The research team is being led by senior research fellow Dr Shaila Afroj.

Andritz to supply TAD tissue machine to US’ Procter & Gamble

Andritz has received an order from Procter & Gamble (P&G) to supply a PrimeLineTAD (Through-Air Dried) tissue machine for its Family Care plant in Box Elder, Utah, USA. The start-up is scheduled for 2024. The new PrimeLineTAD machine will be supplied with state-of-the-art energy efficient process equipment to meet P&G’s demanding sustainability targets.

Germany’s Freudenberg Performance Materials is widening its range of technical packaging textiles. The new Evolon ESD collection protects automotive and industrial parts with electronic components from electrostatic discharge.
