Yoona Digital Indonesia launches eco-friendly organic sanitary pads

Yoona Digital, a female technology (femtech) company based in Indonesia, has launched Yoona All Night pads 36cm, adding to their three previous products: pantyliners, 24.5cm day pads, and 29cm night pads. Yoona uses 100 per cent organic materials that are chemical-free, thus ensuring comfort and health of women during their menstruation period.

US’ FRX, Sichuan develop 1st halogen-free flame-retardant fabric

American chemicals company FRX Innovations Inc and China’s Sichuan EM Technology Co Ltd have collaborated to develop the world’s first halogen-free inherent flame-retardant upholstery fabric solution capable of meeting the stringent British Fire Standard BS 5852; part 1 for furniture. Sri Lanka waives off tax on raw materials for sanitary napkins

The Sri Lankan government recently initiated measures to waive off duties imposed on five imported raw materials for sanitary napkins produced in the country to make hygiene products more affordable for women and school girls, according to the Presidential Media Division. Tax concessions were announced for imported finished sanitary napkins as well.

Japan’s Toray develops fabric using 100% plant-based polyester

Japan-based textile industry company Toray Industries, Inc, has announced that it has developed a new variety of nonwoven material, Ultrasuede nu, which partially consists of 100 per cent plant-based polyester. All Nippon Airways Co, Ltd (ANA), will use the fabric for making the headrest covers of the ANA Green Jet from November this year.
