US’ Hollingsworth & Vose to invest $40.2 mn for expansion in Virginia

Hollingsworth & Vose, a manufacturer of nonwoven materials used in filtration and other applications, will invest $40.2 million to expand its operations in Floyd County, Virginia, the state’s governor Glenn Youngkin has announced. With this move, the company’s facility at 365 Christiansburg Pike Northeast will expand by over 28,000 square feet.

Belgium’s Devan to launch biobased allergen control tech at Heimtextil

Belgian textile innovator Devan Chemicals will launch Purissimo NTL, a biobased and readily biodegradable allergen control technology, at the Heimtextil trade show in Frankfurt, which will be held from January 10–13, 2023. IIT Delhi team develops tech for industrial-scale nanofibre production

A team of researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi’s (IIT-D) SMITA Research Lab has developed a technology for the industrial scale production of nanofibres that is superior to the commercial technologies available. The pilot equipment has been validated in an industrial set-up for producing nanofibres at commercial scale.

Jehong Medical to double its capacity in Bangladesh

Jehong Medical Products (BD) Co Ltd, a China-based company, is setting up a new factory in the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) Economic Zone in Chattogram to double its monthly production capacity to around 8 lakh pieces. The new factory will come up on an area of 21,000 sq ft is expected to start operation by the end of next year.

India’s flexible packaging sector to grow by 5% in FY23: CRISIL

India’s flexible packaging industry is expected to see a subdued revenue growth of 5 per cent in this fiscal, mainly due to falling raw material prices and lower realisation, according to CRISIL Ratings. The industry could also see a decline in operating margin by approximately 500 bps in 2022-23, compared to a growth of around 18 per cent in 2021-22.
