VTT Research Centre to host Nonwovens Innovation Academy in Finland

VTT Research Centre will be hosting the 2022 Nonwovens Innovation Academy (NIA) in Jyvaskyla, Finland from May 11-12, 2022. The NIA will bring together academics, students, scientists and industry experts to encourage the sharing of knowledge, research and developments that will support the innovation and growth in the nonwovens industry.

Network of Italian textiles creates spacesuit for SMOPS

A group of companies in the Italian textile industry, headed by RadiciGroup, has created a spacesuit for analogue simulation which is designed and engineered in Italy for SMO Mars mission. It was promoted and organised by Mars Planet, the Italian chapter of the Mars Society headquartered in Bergamo, under the patronage of the Italian Space Agency.

Belgium’s Ontex opens new excellence centre for process engineering

Ontex, a provider of personal hygiene products, has opened its Global Excellence Centre (GEC) for Process Engineering and Global Platform Innovation. In the presence of Ontex CEO Esther Berrozpe, the centre was opened in Mayen, Germany. Around 180 people will work at the site, as operators of development production lines, engineers and lab technicians.

US’ IND Hemp & Hempitecture to produce natural hemp fibres
