Sweden’s hygiene and health company, Essity, is launching a pilot project to run a paper machine CO2-free with green hydrogen in the company’s production facility in Mainz-Kostheim, Germany. The project is the first of this magnitude in the paper industry. Essity’s investment in the pilot project amounts to €4 million (approximately SEK 40 million).

Sweden’s Stora Enso has launched the new NaturaFluff pulp product portfolio, NaturaFluff Eco by Stora Enso. NaturaFluff Eco is a new fluff pulp grade with a lower carbon footprint, enabling producers of hygiene products, such as baby diapers, incontinence pads and feminine care, to offer consumers a new generation of absorbent hygiene products.

A shared commitment to bringing circular materials and sustainable practices to the nonwovens industry has brought together the textile technology group Infinited Fiber Company and Suominen, to create a nonwoven sheet made 100 per cent from regenerated textile waste.
