Teijin Aramid B.V., the Teijin Group’s aramid business, has announced that the company is participating in A+A 2017, the safety, security, and health at work international tradefair, being held from October 17 to 2, 2017, in Dusseldorf, Germany. The Teijin Aramid stand (hall: 9, booth: A39) is displaying a variety of its protective apparel solutions.

Teijin’s Aramid Business has a new production line at its Technora production facility in Matsuyama, Japan. The Technora capacity is available for Teijin Aramid’s customers globally. The production line will now produce on full capacity. Technora aramid fibre features high tensile strength and resistance to impact, fatigue, chemicals, moisture and heat.

Teijin has developed a smart uniform for firefighters, incorporating a sophisticated wearable device that monitors body heat. The company also revealed that it has been successful in predicting the risk of firefighters’ heatstroke—the first time in the world this has been achieved—during tests in the development of its new smart protective system (SPS).
