UK's Carrington Textiles flame retardant fabrics get RU mark

Carrington Textiles has received the RU status under the category of ‘flame resistant clothing for protection of industrial personnel against short-duration thermal exposures from fire’ for six of its flame retardant fabrics. The six fabrics are also NFPA 2112 accredited. Carrington Textiles is the largest producer of workwear fabrics based in the UK.

Michigan University recycles polymers from diapers into adhesives

Scientists in the University of Michigan have developed a process to untangle absorbent polymers in diapers and recycle them into materials similar to the gooey adhesives used in sticky notes and bandages. This has the potential to prevent tonnes of waste. The superabsorbent material in diapers is made up of a matrix of polymers that expand in dampness.
