UK’s Antich improves capability in 3D multilayer woven preforms

Fabric producer Antich and Sons has attained advanced capability to produce finished 3D multilayer woven preforms for advanced composites used in aerospace and automotive sectors through a project with the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC). These preforms will allow for efficient use of material within a component.

French companies Carbios, Michelin move close to sustainable tyres

Carbios, a company pioneering new bio-industrial solutions to reinvent the lifecycle of plastic and textile polymers, and Michelin, a leader in sustainable mobility, have moved closer to developing 100 per cent sustainable tyres. Michelin has validated Carbios’ enzymatic recycling process for PET plastic waste, to create a high tenacity tyre fibre.

IVL companies, Polymateria work on biotransformation technology

Fibre producer, FiberVisions, and spunlaid nonwoven manufacturer, Avgol – both part of global chemical producer Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited (IVL) – have collaborated with scientists at Polymateria to commercialise the innovative ‘biotransformation’ technology which alters polyolefins to make them biodegradable in a natural process.

French company Carbios signs EOI with PET producer

Carbios, a company pioneering new enzymatic solutions to reinvent the lifecycle of plastic and textile polymers, has signed a non-exclusive and non-binding Expression Of Intent agreement with a significant PET producer. This is expected to result in a first-of-a-kind 100 per cent PET recycling production unit using Carbios’ enzymatic technology.
