Japan’s Mitsui to expand production facilities for meltblown nonwovens

Japan’s Mitsui Chemicals has announced plans to expand its production facilities for meltblown nonwovens at wholly owned subsidiary Sunrex. The move comes as an effort to respond to growing demand for industrial-use meltblown nonwovens, which will see the Mitsui Chemicals overall production capacity for meltblown nonwovens increase by 30 per cent.

Israel’s Albaad invests €50 million for nonwovens production line

The Albaad group, an Israel-headquartered market leader of nonwovens and wet wipes, is investing around €50 million in expanding and improving its environmentally friendly nonwoven production line. The company will produce a sustainable fabric that will be made entirely from natural fibres, biodegradable, fully flushable and plastic-free.

Germany’s Wacker uses Biomethanol to produce silicon-textile softeners

The Munich-based multinational chemical company Wacker Chemie AG has applied the usage of resource-efficient silicones production concept to manufacture textile softeners. With immediate effect, three functional silicone fluids are available as ‘eco’ products: Wetsoft eco LV 810, Wacker finish eco WR 1100 LV and Wacker finish eco WR 1300 LV.

US’ INDA announces timing changes for IDEA & FiltXPO events

INDA has announced that IDEA, the nonwovens and engineered fabrics industry event, will be held two years instead of three starting in 2024. FiltXPO, North America’s only technical conference dedicated to the filtration and separation industry, will return to an 18-month schedule and be held from October 10-12, 2023, at Navy Pier, Chicago, Ill.
