Hygiene giant Essity divests operations in Russia

Healthcare company Essity is divesting its operations in Russia, with a deal approved by Russian authorities set to finalise in Q2 2023. The move follows Essity's 2022 decision to exit the Russian market, resulting in an asset impairment of around SEK 1.7 billion. Russian operations constituted around 2 per cent of Essity's total net sales in 2022.

India eyes high-value products to boost technical textiles sector

India’s ministry of textiles has approved 20 R&D projects, valued at ?61.09 crore. Minister Piyush Goyal has emphasised the need for research and innovation in technical textiles, which could offer alternatives in sectors like aviation and infrastructure. He also advocated for wider collaboration between various ministries to promote NTTM.
