Rocket Lab has begun installing a 99-ton automated fibre placement (AFP) machine at its Middle River, MD facility. A study by ifo found that Germany's 2020 VAT reduction on sanitary pads and tampons from 19 to 7 per cent, aimed at reducing tax discrimination, was fully passed on to consumers. However, companies simultaneously raised prices for panty liners, which were not included in the tax cut. This increase has offset the intended financial relief for women.

Finnish company Suominen reported net sales of €232.3 million in H1 FY24, in line with last year. Despite lower sales prices, higher volumes and reduced raw material costs boosted comparable EBITDA to €9.5 million. Q2 FY24 net sales rose 5 per cent to €118.7 million. Profit improved but remained negative at minus €2.9 million for H1 FY24.
