US’ Geosynthetics Conference 2023 ends on a successful note

The recently held 2023 US’ Advanced Textiles Association’s (ATA) Geosynthetics conference, co-hosted with the International Erosion Control Association’s (IECA) annual conference and expo, brought together the geotechnical industry as well as the erosion, sediment control, and stormwater industry. The expo had around 1,800 attendees and 186 exhibits.

Canada’s Roswell Textiles unveils Viraloc Eco biodegradable face mask

Roswell Textiles, alongside its sister company and commercial partner, PADM Medical, has announced the use of its plant-based nonwoven materials, Ecofuse, in Canada’s first plant based, medical grade procedural mask (Viraloc Eco). The Viraloc Eco face mask has a 65 per cent carbon footprint reduction, when compared to a traditional synthetic mask.

Swiss firm Gurit’s composite materials’ sales up 52.9% in FY22

Switzerland based Gurit, a company that specialises in advanced composites, has reported a 52.9 per cent increase (at constant rates) to Swiss franc (CHF) 325.5 million in the sales of its composite materials segment in fiscal 2022 (FY22). The company’s net sales were CHF 499.5 million, an increase of 6.7 per cent year-on-year (YoY), for FY22.

Andritz to showcase sustainable solutions at Index23 in Geneva

International technology group Andritz will be presenting its nonwovens production and textile solutions at Index23 in Geneva, Switzerland, at booth 2114 from April 18–21, 2023. At the event, Andritz will highlight its sustainable products and solutions to produce nonwovens and will present them at the EDANA Sustainability panel on April 19, 2023.

US’ Domtar to sell Dryden Mill to First Quality

US’ Domtar, a part of the Paper Excellence group, and First Quality, have entered into an agreement to sell Domtar’s Dryden pulp mill to First Quality. The Dryden transaction, to close in the third quarter, is subject to customary closing conditions, including receipt of regulatory approvals and the closing of the Resolute Forest Products transaction.
