UK retailer Tesco to ban plastic wet wipes from March 14

England-based retailer Tesco has announced its new move to scrap all baby wipes containing plastic from March 14. The supermarket stopped using plastic in its own label baby wipes two years ago and the entire range will now be plastic-free. The move is significant as Tesco sells more than 75 million packs, or 4.8 billion individual baby wipes each year.

Netherlands’ Rivertex launches alternative to PVC coated fabrics

Netherlands-based Rivertex Technical fabrics Group has introduced Rivercyclon, a non-toxic, recyclable, lightweight and cost-effective alternative to PVC coated fabrics. It is made from a single polymer that contains no plasticisers or other toxins and can be fully recycled. Rivercyclon is up to 40 per cent lighter than PVC coated alternatives.

Sweden’s Diab reduces carbon footprint by 46 per cent between 2016-2021. In 2016, Diab started to reduce its carbon footprint as part of its commitment to meeting the global reduction goals. Diab’s targets were approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), making it the first company for high-tech sandwich composite solutions to do so.
