Michigan University recycles polymers from diapers into adhesives

Scientists in the University of Michigan have developed a process to untangle absorbent polymers in diapers and recycle them into materials similar to the gooey adhesives used in sticky notes and bandages. This has the potential to prevent tonnes of waste. The superabsorbent material in diapers is made up of a matrix of polymers that expand in dampness.
