Kunal was appointed by Coats Group, the world’s leading industrial thread manufacturer, in 2023, to captain the helm at Coats Digital, and spearhead a programme of rapid growth for this unique, multi-faceted technology business that optimises and accelerates the necessary and urgent digital transformation of the fashion industry. Coats Digital’s connected ecosystem of technologies drive sustainable best-practice processes; enable greater data transparency and deliver high value data insights that significantly improve decision making and operational/financial performance across the end-to-end fashion supply chain. 

As part of building the technology software arm of Coats Group, Kunal works towards strengthening the “Connected” Coats Digital purpose, vision, mission and strategy by transforming the organisation’s structure, capabilities and investments; and operationalising the ecosystem strategy further to deliver rapid growth.

Kunal previously played senior global commercial, general management, marketing, key account management and technical roles at Coats Group. All these roles were centred on executing a strategic agenda to streamline business priorities across all global markets. In his previous role as Head of Strategic Vendors and General Manager (Thailand), Kunal led the commercial teams in South Asia and Southeast Asia and was in charge of the Global Technical Services operation, which gave him ultimate responsibility for delivering strong business results throughout Coats Group’s Apparel & Footwear portfolio.
 
Prior to this, Kunal enjoyed five years as Coats’ Commercial Director of Bangladesh, following 11 years at Coats India in various management roles – including: Regional Manager, Product Manager and Head of Marketing.  
 
Kunal is an accomplished senior executive with 23 years’ experience in global markets and in-depth knowledge of Asia-Pacific. He has built teams and steered and transformed numerous businesses in multiple operating environments across B2B and B2C.  

Kunal holds a Bachelor of Business Studies degree from University of Delhi (India) and an MBA from S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research (India). He is based in Thailand, and enjoys time with his family, as well as travelling and trekking – so he can experience  new adventures with a view to ‘conquering mountains’ in all parts of his life.
