Prateek Kukreja is currently pursuing his PhD at the Centre for the Study of Regional Development, JNU, New Delhi. He has submitted his M.Phil dissertation on "The Impact of Trade Openness and Labour Regulations on Employment in India's Textile and Clothing Industry" in 2016. Alongside, he has also been working on a World Bank project: "Jobs for Development" at Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations since 2015. His previous research engagements have been with Research and Information Systems for Developing Countries, New Delhi and National Institute for Science, Technology and Development Studies (CSIR- NISTADS), New Delhi. He has also worked as an intern with Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (GOI) in 2012. He holds a master's degree in Development Economics from South Asian University and a bachelor's degree in Economics from University of Delhi.
Prateek's major research focus has been on issues relating to trade, employment and industrial performance. He has worked extensively using Indian data sources, particularly ASI and NSS as well as with international trade data. He has been working on India's textile and Clothing Industry for some time and has presented research papers in various conferences.
He further has in his credit various industry reports published by CSIR, article published in The Hindu and various online publications as well.
