Dr. Shruti Tiwari is the founder, owner and freelance designer of Shatakshi’s design studio as well as an academician in the field of design. She is also a Professor in Design at Parul University, Vadodara.
After completing Graduate & Post graduate degrees with merit from DAVV, Indore, she pursued a Design course from IPW (International Polytechnic for Women, New Delhi) and went on to complete her PhD in the field of Textiles.
During her nearly 25-year career as a freelance designer, she has handled many design projects, including ‘Theme Pavilion of Buyer Seller meet – 2009’, conducting Fashion Show for “Mrignaynee Emporium”, Costumes for Halloween Party for NewYork Clients – 2010, and bagged Best Presentation Award in a show organised by ‘GrahShobha’ in 2009.
As an academician for 20 years, she had been a jury member of NIFT (National Institute of fashion), Bhopal; SOFT (School of Fashion Technology), Pune, 2010 – 2016; and Panellist of NCERT under (MHRD – Ministry of Human Recourses and Development) for Fashion & Textile vocational courses since 2009.
She has authored a book – “Maheshwari: Legacy of a Queen”, presented and published 25 research papers at various national and international conferences, received best research paper award and got an opportunity to get an article published in an international magazine ‘Business Images of Fashion’ – 2007 in Heritage Section.
In addition to being a designer and an academician, she loves trekking and had climbed Rohtang Pass (13,000 ft) in Himachal Pradesh in 1996, while pursuing her Post Graduation.
