He is the member of several professional bodies like Indian Geotechnical Society, Indian Roads Congress, Indian Water Resources Society, Indian Society of Earthquake Technology etc.
Dr. Satyendra Mittal did his B.E. (Civil) from MNR Engg. College, Allahabad He completed his Masters and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Roorkee (now I.I.T. Roorkee). Currently he is in the faculty of Department of Civil Engineering at I.I.T. Roorkee. Prior to this, he had a short stint at National Institute of Hydrology, Roorkee from where he moved to Iraq to work in a construction company. Dr. Mittal, Fellow of The Institution of Engineers (India) is associated with Roorkee Local Centre of The Institution of Engineers (India) for the last 16 years as member of its Managing Committee. Presently Dr. Mittal is the Chairman of the same institution.
He is the member of several professional bodies like Indian Geotechnical Society, Indian Roads Congress, Indian Water Resources Society, Indian Society of Earthquake Technology etc. He has organized different courses and conferences successfully with a wide participation from India and abroad. He has two technical books in his credit, over forty technical papers which were published in national and international conferences and journals. He is the recipient of various awards like “Best Trainee Officer” awarded by Hangzhou Hydro Power Centre China, “Man of the Year” award by American Biographical Institute, USA and many more.
He has prepared a technical film on “Reinforced Earth Technology” which was broadcasted on national hook up. He is also member of many National and International Societies. He was invited to deliver expert lectures on Micro Hydel Projects in Bangladesh University, Dhaka and to Chair a technical session in international conference on Soil Nailing held in Nanjing (China).
