Frances Ross has worked in the creative arts industries for many years and is currently a freelance Visiting Lecturer at London College of Fashion. Her research is extensive and covers exhibitions, catalogues, published journal and conference papers on topics including Bespoke Tailors, Lingerie, Online Gay Aesthetics, The new Dandy and Black British style influences on menswear. She has also given presentations and key note speeches at international venues and events including the Victoria & Albert Museum, The Museum of London, International Foundation of Fashion Technology Institutes (IFFTI) Conferences in Toronto and Melbourne and Shanghai Fashion Week.
Prior to entering Higher Education Frances had twenty years design management experience working for blue-chip advertising agencies and design consultancies with roles including Art Buyer, Stylist and New Business Director. She has also conducted research and advised the fashion industry on European funded projects for small-medium-enterprises wishing to leverage their business through the application of new technology in mass-customisation.
Her consultancy projects involve fashion brands and branding applications in different channels. She is currently planning the delivery of a series of master-classes for a new Fashion MBA in Istanbul and short courses on International Design Management and Strategy for Artscom London as well as continuing her professional research and consultancy work.
