Overview


Geotextiles form one of the largest groups of geosynthetics.Geotextiles are textile fabrics specially designed to be used as constructionalmaterial in conjunction with other geotechnical materials such as soil androck. There are at least hundred specific application areas for geotextiles.


Geotextiles can be defined as; Any permeable textilenatural or synthetic, used with foundation soil, rock, earth, or any othergeotechnical engineering related material. ASTM defines geotextiles as a permeablegeosynthetic comprised solely of textiles
