The estimated volume of the market for protective clothing and workwear globally, is roughly €17 million per year, of which Europe has a share of nearly €6 million, and Germany has a share of about €1.6 million, according to Joachim Schaefer, managing director of Messe Dusseldorf, which will organize the 33rd A+A convention, International Trade Fair and Congress on Occupational Safety and Health, scheduled to be held from November 5 to 8, 2013, in Dusseldorf, Germany.

According to the managing director, the A+A convention has managed to earn the reputation as the most important industry platform for protective clothing and workwear in the recent years, as it has been able to improve its position in corporate fashion/image wear (garments that enhance corporate image), due to fashion shows held during the convention, owing to the increase convergence of professional and protective clothing, reports the A+A website.

Mr. Schafer said the causes for this growing trend are manifold, as with a custom-made suit, the signature image of the company is easily evident to the customer, which is extremely important when the product of the company cannot be viewed.

In terms of protective clothing, the demand is more in those countries in which industrial production remains high, for example countries in the European Union, Asia and Germany are the major markets for protective clothing, he added.

The 33rd edition A+A convention will focus on all aspects of safety and health at work, and as part of the convention, the A+A Fashion Show would also be held, where textile firms would present latest trends in protective clothing and workwear.
