According to a statement issued by the Uludag Textile Exporters Association (UTIB), several new projects in the technical textiles segment were presented during the two-day event, including sensory military clothing project, adventurous sportswear fabric project, infantwear having the technology to measure body temperature and smart clothes which incorporate audio sensing fabrics for hearing impaired as well as visual sensing fabrics for visually challenged.
UTIB president Ibrahim Burkay said during the summit that over the six years since the summit has been organized, a total of 1,158 R&D projects in the textile sector have been presented, and the event has acted as a platform for domestic and international enterprises to meet with investors for their projects.
During the two-day event, a total of 346 participants, of which 264 were domestic and 82 from international textile and clothing firms, presented their latest innovations and research projects to domestic and foreign industry professionals, academics, students, scientists, investors and company representatives who attended the summit.
Organized by the Uludag Textile Exporters Association (UTIB), with support from the Turkish Ministry of Economy, Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), and in coordination with the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO), Bursa Ekisehir Roadmaps Development Agency (BEBKA), Bursa Textile and Apparel R&D Center (BUTEKOM), the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) and the Technology and Innovation Funding Programs Directorate (TEYDEB), the summit also had several spaces dedicated for various textile and clothing industry experts to discuss and exchange information regarding the latest trends and innovations in the global textile and apparel sector.
