The 2nd CIRP CCMPM follows on from the success of the first conference, which was held in 2017.The 2nd CIRP Conference on Composite Material Parts Manufacturing will be held during October 10-11, 2019 at the AMRC Knowledge Transfer Centre. The conference provides a platform to experts from academia and industry in the area of composite material parts manufacturing to present new technologies and research towards producing ultra-lightweight components.#
The need for such a conference was identified during a namesake CIRP Collaborative Working Group (CWG) meeting. Since the formation of these CWG meetings, the topics “Design and Lifecycle”, “Part Generation” and “Part Finishing and Assembly” were each discussed in every meeting, and always with a focus on industrial use-cases.
The aim of the conference is to bring together and share novel production research, technologies and solutions to the global composite manufacturing community. This is underpinned by an international scientific committee of reputed researchers of composite material parts manufacturing and other related research areas.
Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) is a network of world-leading research and innovation centres working with manufacturing companies from micro-SMEs to multi-national giants around the globe. Within this network, the AMRC’s Composite Centre aims to utilise innovative manufacturing methods to produce ultra-lightweight components from composite materials.
Experts at the conference will demonstrate new and innovative technologies under the topics of ‘Design and Lifecycle’, ‘Part Generation’ and ‘Part finishing and assembly’ that deliver real world benefits. These will be interspersed within three parallel sessions. (SV)
