- Alexium continues the commercial roll-out of its nylon treatment product
-Licensee Duro begins FR nylon market introduction, targeting initial product deliveries for late Q1 2013
- Alexium's product development pipeline growing; excellent market opportunities
Alexium International Group Limited (Alexium) announced that Alexium's late product development phase and commercial roll out are proceeding on plan. Alexium's novel nylon FRtreatment is quickly moving from development to scale-up and initial production.
This week, Alexium and Duro Textiles will begin production runs for a specific end application. Initial product runs for other customers are planned over the next months. Duro Textiles licensed Alexium's novel flame retardant (FR) treatment under an exclusive commercial agreement for nylon fabrics. The scope of the license would cover Duro's 95%+ nylon product areas for military, government and commercial markets in North America.
“Transitioning our FR nylon treatment to Duro's production floor is a key near-term objective. Both parties are eager to get over the last development stages and get products into the market.” stated Stefan Susta, Alexium's COO and Executive Director. Alexium's innovative technology for synthetic fabrics is based on a unique charring mechanism that extinguishes the flame while preventing any melting or dripping.
After production transition of FR nylon to Duro Textiles, Alexium's will shift technical emphasis to developing an exciting product pipeline for nylon blends and non-textile applications. Alexium has not assigned licenses for treatments of nylon blends and non-textile applications.
