Germany's specialty chemicals group, Altana, has acquired the Dutch enterprise Addcomp Holland BV, a developer and manufacturer of unique polymer additive solutions.
Addcomp will be integrated into the plastic additives business line of Altana's largest division, BYK Additives & Instruments, leading suppliers in the field of additives and measuring instruments. The acquisition adds a broad range of additive solutions with different functionalities, such as antifogging, improved processing, flame retardancy, heat stabilisation, and UV stabilisation to BYK's portfolio. Addcomp is a leader in applying masterbatch technology to achieve superb dispersion, to simplify handling of such difficult additives as liquids and viscous materials, and to provide the highest additive concentrations.
