International technology Group ANDRITZ has started up a MESIM plastic film stretching line right on schedule, delivered to one of the world's leading manufacturers of specialty films for food and drinks packaging, protective packaging, and products for medical use. In terms of film width and production speed, this line is the largest and fastest of its kind worldwide.

MESIM (Mechanical Simultaneous Stretching System) is a special stretching technology patented by ANDRITZ Biax. The stretching process in both longitudinal and transverse direction takes place simultaneously in only one step, including the option to adjust the stretching ratio over a wide range. The resulting film products are outstanding due to their particularly high optical, chemical, as well as physical quality, and can achieve high margins along with reasonably low investment costs. The films manufactured by MESIM systems are for high-quality applications, such as special food packaging or high-resolution displays used in laptops and smartphones.
