Two of Southern Glove Inc.'s innovative impact gloves have been approved for use by ExxonMobil drilling contractors. The two gloves, Arma Tuff and Sarco Impact Glove, help prevent hand and finger injuries from pinch points and crushing blows in harsh oilfield environments.

“The Sarco Impact Glove has been successfully utilized in helping to reduce the severity of hand and finger injuries for the oil and gas drilling industries across the United States for more than five years,” said Jeff Carter, Southern Glove's vice president of sales.

“We are excited to partner with ExxonMobil in keeping their workers as safe as possible.”

Carter said the patent pending Sarco Impact glove's dual layer of EVA impact-resistant foam provides unparalleled protection from blows to the back of the hand while the Arma Tuff glove affords midrange impact protection with added comfort and high dexterity. Both gloves offer a variety of palm options for special applications, including leather and fabric options. For winter wear, Hipora, a waterproof barrier, and Thinsulate material are available as liners on Arma Tuff styles.
