Canada Goose, one of the world's leading manufacturers of extreme weather outerwear, announced its expansion through the acquisition of a new Canadian manufacturing facility: Engineered Apparel. With the acquisition, Canada Goose will gain 120 employees in Winnipeg, historically a hotbed for Canadian apparel manufacturing.

Based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Engineered Apparel has specialized in down manufacturing and in the production of high end garments for some of rthe world's best outdoor brands for the last 15 years, and has been a Canada Goose contractor for more than five years.

"The announcement is another significant step toward further establishing Canada Goose as the preeminent outerwear manufacturer in Canada with the greatest outerwear manufacturing infrastructure in this country,” said Dani Reiss, president and CEO, Canada Goose. “It's an investment in Canadian jobs, in Canadian expertise, and in a brand that represents some of the best this country offers around the globe."

As a reflection of Canada Goose's commitment to its 'Made in Canada' philosophy, this expansion will not only increase the company's capacity, but will also allow for more control over the supply chain and increased efficiency. Chuck Barbee, president of Engineered Apparel, will continue to operate his El Salvador operation that manufactures products for Arc'teryx and other premium outerwear brands.

“I've worked with Canada Goose for the past few years and can honestly say that the company lives up to its reputation. When other apparel manufacturers left Canada, Canada Goose stayed, and continues to employ Canadians at home,” said Chuck Barbee. “I know they are in it for the long term and I am incredibly pleased to know that my staff of 120 people will continue to have job security with this stellar company.”

For over 50 years, Canada Goose has been committed to producing the best extreme weather outerwear in the world; proudly made in Canada. From the South Pole research facilities and the Canadian High Arctic, to the streets of New York City, Stockholm, Milan, Toronto and Tokyo, people wear Canada Goose products because of its reputation for authenticity, best quality, functionality and iconic style.
