Canada’s Titan has announced a new R&D project with McGill University’s Geo-Group, a group made up of graduates, researchers, technical and academic staff involved in geotechnical engineering research and teaching. Titan specialises in high quality geosynthetics, containment systems, and specialty civil engineering products that protect the environment.
The Geo-Group’s current project funded through NSERC’s Alliance funding (ALLRP) grant involves a three-year research project, in partnership with Titan entitled Improving the performance of ground-supported slabs subject to extreme environmental conditions by using rigid high-resistance fiberglass geo-grids. “I’m excited to collaborate with McGill University’s Geo-Group on this ground-breaking study, which aims to provide an alternative environmentally friendly design option by utilising Titan’s advanced ConForce Grids to reduce maintenance costs and extend the service life of concrete structures exposed to harsh environmental conditions and cold climates in Canada. This method is projected to result in long-term solutions with a significant reduction in carbon emissions,” Sam Bhat, Titan’s CTO of geosynthetics said.
