Its aim is to promote this new research and development facility dedicated to new generation textiles and new applications markets.
There are 20 machines on the same site offering over 100 different textiles solutions! It is a major competitive asset at a time when contractors are seeking to optimize the innovation cycle and explore new ideas.
The team will present the high technology equipment installed at CETI, together with its services: research, development of collaborative projects, testing, prototyping, sampling, business center.
Multi-sector technology has enabled drylaid production to start!
CETI has just started up its drylaid non-woven production equipment, offering the following functionalities: fibre preparation and mixing (LAROCHE), web forming by carding (ANDRITZ ASSELIN THIBEAU) or pneumatic cross-lapping (LAROCHE), thermobonding in a flat oven with through air (STRAHM) or mechanically by needle-punching (ANDRITZ ASSELIN THIBEAU).
The drylaid line is connected to the meltblown machines, offering many opportunities to innovate by combining different technologies. The drylaid machines enable a wide range of fibres (natural, chemical, recycled, etc.) to be processed and mixed.
This flexibility, coupled with that of the processes, allows a great diversity of innovative products to be developed for such sectors as transportation, construction, filtration and civil engineering.
CETI is a boost to innovation for many firms!
Since CETI was inaugurated last October, there have been many contacts between French and international businesses. Over 100 visits have concluded in a declaration of the intention to cooperate, negotiations further to quotations are underway with 20 contacts and several contracts have already been signed!
The firms range from large industrial groups to SME and even micro-businesses and start ups, all attracted by the standard of the technical facilities and services provided by the ecosystem (UPTEX cluster, CLUBTEX business club, INNOTEX incubator).
Marc Honoré, general director of CETI, is delighted by the way things have taken off: «Firms were not always aware of the amazing possibilities CETI could offer them. Now, almost every visit leads to a decision to take things further!».
With the help of the UPTE cluster, CETI set up its first collaborative project funded by a FUI (state) grant at the start of 2013 with FILAIRCO which is specialised in air filtration for the automotive, construction and industrial markets. Other promising projects are also underway.
SAVE THE DATE! CETI will be hosting the Nonwoven Innovation Academy on 27 and 28 November 2013.
With the nonwovens market expanding at a rate of 8% per year, this sector is continuing to grow thanks to its innovations. EDANA has chosen CETI to host the 2013 edition of the Nonwoven Innovation Academy! The cream of the nonwovens industry will be meeting at CETI at the end of November 2013.
Researchers, engineers, businesses and students will be able to discuss the latest developments in nonwovens: eco-functionalization, sustainable nonwovens, modelling, research in polymers, bio-sourced fibres, nanotechnology, processes and performance improvement.
