Specialised technology developer, CGTech will be demonstrating how critical simulation is when trimming composite parts at the JEC Composites show which begins March 10, 2015 in Paris.
CGTech will also be demonstrating Vericut Composite Applications like Vericut Composite Paths for Engineering (VCPe), Vericut Composite Programming (VCP) & Vericut Composite Simulation (VCS).Specialised technology developer, CGTech will be demonstrating how critical simulation is when trimming composite parts at the JEC Composites show #
CGTech will be exhibiting its latest version of Vericut software, which is a CNC machine simulation, verification and optimisation software that enables users to eliminate the process of manually proving-out NC programs.
According to CGTech, Vericut simulates all types of CNC machining, including drilling and trimming of composite parts, water jet, riveting, robotics, mill/turn and parallel kinematics.
“Vericut runs standalone, but can also be integrated with leading CAM systems,” it added.
Visitors will also get an overview of the steps needed to get from a CAD designed composite part to CNC programs that drive an Automated Fibre Placement (AFP) or Automated Tape Laying (ATL) machine.
Current customer projects to be highlighted include extensive use of robots, lasers, probing, and ultrasonic knifes.
“Because composite work pieces take significant process time and labour prior to machining, they can be more expensive than even some exotic metal alloy work pieces,” said Bill Hasenjaeger, CGTech’s product marketing manager.
He explained, “It is usually not possible to repair a composite work piece damaged during machining. Thus, validation of the part program is extremely critical.”
Headquartered in Irvine, California, CGTech specialises in numerical control (NC/CNC) simulation, verification, optimization and analysis software technology for manufacturing. (AR)
