The Chomarat Group, which has presence in four continents, is increasing its production capacity of multiaxial glass fibre reinforcements for the wind turbine market.

The production capacity will be increased by expanding Chomarat’s plant in Grombalia, located at a short distance from the Tunisian capital city of Tunis.

The decision to increase production capacity was taken in response to the company bagging a new contract to supply over 10,000 tonnes to the wind turbine sector, Chomarat said on its website.

In 2014, too, Chomarat carried out similar expansion at its Taicang plant, situated near Shanghai in China.

The group is now able to supply its multiaxial reinforcements across Europe, Asia and the Americas. The group aims is to pursue its development by offering a competitive range, designed for the wind turbine sector and all other high-volume markets such as the transportation and marine industries.

Founded in 1898, Chomarat relies on an international network in the field of composite materials and engineered textiles, and has four industrial sites in Europe, the Mediterranean basin, the US and Asia to support the development of international groups.

The group leads a bold innovation strategy by investing in new technologies and entering into research partnerships with universities worldwide. (RKS)
