A range of products from medical suits and wind turbines, to lifeboat and tunnel models surprised visitors by the wide applications of technical textiles. “It demonstrates the actual products made of technical textiles and helps to promote our company,” said Zheng Xiaoyin, Shandong Hongxiang Chemical Fiber Group. The company showcased a landfill project application model using technical textiles to create a waterproofing and anti-fouling layer at the Innovation Showcase Area.
International and domestic companies announced their latest offerings and innovative technologies during the seminar sessions. Leading Turkish fibre and yarn supplier, Kordsa International, presented a new product brand Capmax to manufacture environmentally-friendly tires, while Textiles Intelligence gave an overview of global technical textiles technologies and market forecast.
Commenting on the feedback of the seminar, Robin Anson, Editorial Director of Textiles Intelligence said: “Chinese enterprises are hungry for the latest developments and Cinte Techtextil China provides the ideal shop window. Although deals are not made overnight, I see the fair is growing in importance over the years as the market for technical textiles in China matures – especially as producers of conventional textiles and apparel start to realise that they can make much bigger margins in technical textiles.”
“The seminar was a good idea for the fair,” said Ozgul Baser, Market Intelligence Specialist of Kordsa International. “People asked questions and were genuinely interested in our new product. It drew more attention to our company. This is definitely something that should be continued.”
North American visitor Ms Emilia McNutt from Bemis was eager to find out more details after the seminar session. “It provided a good overview. My attention was caught by several topics. I left my contacts to the presenter and hope to receive more information from him afterwards.”
Cinte Techtextil China was organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT and the China Nonwovens & Industrial Textiles Association (CNITA).
The next edition of the fair is scheduled to take place in October 2014 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
