Textile coating applications in the medical environment have become a new focus of Covestro's material development. Such applications include surgical wear, hospital bed linen, coatings for medical furniture, but also medical bandages. Covestro is among the world's largest polymer companies.

The new polyurethane raw materials, under the trade name of Baymedix, are used, for example, in absorbent foams manufactured from Baymedix FP, adhesives with skin contact made of Baymedix A and films based on the waterborne products Baymedix FD and CD. These raw materials impart enhanced stability to coatings towards disinfectants. (SV)
