Crystal group has announced that the company’s factories in Vietnam, China, Cambodia, and Hong Kong, has donated more than 180,000 masks to support employees’ families and the communities, in addition to the masks provided to the employees. The company, which is headquartered in Hong Kong, is a global leader in the apparel manufacturing industry.
The knits factories in Vietnam donated more than 65,000 fabric masks to different organisations, including fast reaction teams in Hai Duong Province, Hai Duong Province Police, Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Hai Duong Province, Kim Thanh District Police, Lai Vu Commune, Hai Duong Province Fatherland Front and Kim Thanh District Fatherland Front. Besides, the intimate factory in China purchased more than 10,000 medical masks and donated to workers’ children and local government. More masks will also be given to the children of local vulnerable groups. Furthermore, the knits factory in Cambodia donated over 8,000 fabric masks with leaflets of precautionary advices to workers’ children and another Cambodia denim factory will also distribute masks to workers’ families as well.
Apart from the overseas factories, Hong Kong headquarters partnered with The Incorporated trustees of Yuk Ching Charity Trust and donated 100,000 masks to 17 social welfare organisations. The simple donation ceremony was held in early April. The NGOs later distributed the masks, with some tips about personal hygiene and wearing masks enclosed in the packages, to the city’s elderly and underprivileged groups.
