With textile technologies now playing a more crucial role for industrial applications that ever before, Gleistein Ropes makes its inaugural appearance at the Hannover Messe, being held 4-8 April in Hanover, Germany. The remarkable uptake and continued growth in market demand for synthetic fibre ropes is not least due to their extreme strength combined with low weight, maximum durability with minimal maintenance requirements and overall easy handling characteristics. Gleistein Ropes invests heavily in the research and development of new textile technologies and is placed at the forefront in this field. Besides seeing the current latest solutions for industrial applications, visitors to the Gleistein stand at the Hannover Messe will also learn how Gleistein Ropes is paving the way on the road to the next generation of intelligent textiles with innovations including Smart RopEx - the world's first self-monitoring rope. Gleistein Ropes can be found within the "Textile Solutions" group stand, located in hall 2, booth 49, at the Research & Technology fair of the Hannover Messe.
While it looks back upon a tradition steeped in the competitive waters of the maritime market, Gleistein Ropes has also provided for the specialised needs of industry for decades. Its first appearance at the industrial Hannover Messe recognises the growing importance of this field of business for the company. "For some time already, industry has been looking towards an increased use of textile materials due to inherent advantages like low weight and easy handling," comments Thomas Schlaetzer, Managing Director of Gleistein Ropes. "But nowadays, textiles have truly become high-tech. The rate of progress is fast and our R&D team is continuously looking into how we can develop new technologies and integrate these in our products to provide new sources of innovative solutions for industry. With our wealth of experience, we see great potential in this market and want to show what we have to offer at the Hannover Messe."With textile technologies now playing a more crucial role for industrial applications that ever before, Gleistein Ropes makes its inaugural appearance at the Hannover Messe, being held 4-8 April in #
Among the innovative textile solutions trade fair visitors can get to know at the Gleistein stand will be SkySails: a towing kite propulsion system for ships. Here Gleistein Ropes is involved as technology partner and has developed a rope that integrates a special electric conductor cable for transmitting steering impulses. Further highlights being portrayed are the lifting technologies from Gleistein subsidiary UPDRAFT, which use textile ropes from Gleistein as well as the latest generation lifting slings boasting a mammoth break load of up to 2,800 tons.
Gleistein Ropes will also provide a special sneak preview into the near future at the Hannover Messe. An overview of the ground-breaking Smart RopEx concept will be available - an intelligent rope that integrates a monitoring system enabling it to "know" when it needs to be replaced.
