“Vestex represents a new class of active barrier protective fabrics for everyday use that is clinically proven to prevent or reduce the acquisition and retention of microbes and other contaminants,” Vestagen said.
“Vestex is engineered to have robust liquid repellency and embedded antimicrobial properties, along with enhanced breathability, good durability and affordability,” the company added in a press release.
"An important element of our strategy is to partner Vestex protective fabrics with market leaders committed to address conditions affecting healthcare providers and patients," founder Uncas Favret said.
"For more than 30 years, Dove has built a powerful national brand and we expect their new Vestex product line will increase awareness and preference for the brand early in students' careers," he added.
President at Dove, Kevin Anderson said, "We are excited to add the unique and compelling Vestex technology to our offering.”
“We see the growing demand for protective fabrics in healthcare and we believe we have chosen the best provider to help us deliver this important solution to our customers,” he too added.
“We are proud to offer the widest range of uniform solutions in the industry, along with an easy order entry process tailored for nursing students," Anderson informed.
Apparel made with Vestex-protected fabrics is initially targeted at healthcare workers, who are at daily risk of exposure to splatters and spills of dangerous fluids during patient care.
“They can unknowingly spread these contaminants to other workers, patients, family members and the general public,” Vestagen noted.
Garments made with Vestex are also expected to offer benefits to patients and to workers in such occupations as public safety, first responders, the food and hospitality industry, and competitive sports.
Vestagen also announced that CEO Bill Bold will present an overview of the company's strategy and progress at the MedCity Invest Conference in Chicago on April 12, 2016.
Vestagen develops and markets advanced performance textile products and technologies and has developed Vestex.
Vestex represents a new class of technology-based, active barrier protective fabrics combining antimicrobial, liquid repellent and breathability properties.
