Draeger Safety Inc. introduced a new single exposure, disposable, Level A gas-tight chemical protective suit for hazardous materials (hazmat) incidents. Called the Draeger CPS 5900, the fully-encapsulated suit is specially designed to provide complete protection against hazardous gases, liquids and particles.
Draeger offers a wide range of proven and innovative products for fire and emergency services with a focus on personal safety and hazard management. The new CPS 5900 garment has been specially designed to meet the most demanding requirements for protective clothing, and to offer additional comfort for firefighters and industrial users.
The CPS 5900 is approved to NFPA 1994 standards. It complies with the requirements of the SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) Convention for use on seagoing vessels. The CPS 5900 also meets European requirements for protective clothing for industrial applications and fire brigades.
The new chemical protective suit has improved ergonomics and comfort. The lightweight garment is made of Zytron 500, the softest laminate material on the market. Each seam is sewn and hot-air taped internally and externally to optimize the integrity of the garment. The suit is compatible with various types of personal protective equipment, including the latest closed circuit breathing apparatus. Available in five sizes, the CPS 5900 is designed to fit both male and female users of all sizes, and has an integrated waist belt for an optimal fit.
Other features include a flexible and foldable scratch-resistant visor that offers a wide field of vision. A wide side entry with zipper fastener makes it quick and easy to put on or take off. Integrated gas-tight socks with boot flaps can be worn with multiple boot sizes. All of the features were designed for maximum protection and ease of use.
